Are you ready for Fall 2022?
With the Fourth of July holiday in the rearview mirror now, this means that it won’t be long until you report to campus for the fall semester. Do you have your plans in place to finance your Citadel education for the upcoming 2022-2023 academic year?
Fall semester bills posted inside Lesesne Gateway on July 6 and will be due on August 4.
Here are some options to consider if you need some assistance covering your expenses for next year:
(1) Parents can apply for a federal parent loan (PLUS) in order to offset any remaining educational costs. The application is currently available online “here“. Please be sure to complete a 2022-23 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as well.
(2) Loans through private lenders are also an option. Review our comparison tool called “FastChoice” for more information. Students and cosigners can apply online with a private lending company. Lenders will notify The Citadel once the loan has been credit-approved.
(3) A payment plan is also available to all enrolled students. The interest-free plan is organized on a semester-by-semester basis and can be set up through the Lesesne Gateway. Your monthly payment amounts will be calculated for you automatically based upon your financial aid, scholarships, and any payments made. You will also have the option to set up automatic draft payments. The online payment plan is expected to launch by the beginning of August. More information, including detailed steps on how to enroll, will be provided by the Treasurer’s Office closer to the launch date.
The Citadel understands that many students are facing financial challenges due to Covid-19. If your family has been impacted, we suggest that you reach our to our office so that we can determine if an adjustment to your FAFSA is appropriate. There are professional judgement opportunities to receive a financial aid adjustment due to the recent unemployment of a family member or independent student, or other circumstances.
Please feel free to contact our office at (843) 953-5187 or at financial_aid@citadel.edu if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you back on campus soon.
