Bio
Dr. Niksiar joined The Citadel’s Mechanical Engineering Department Fall 2020. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. Prior to joining The Citadel, he was a lecturer at Clemson University where he taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Mechanical Engineering and served as Clemson’s Rocket Engineering Club advisor. His research includes the design and development of advanced functional porous materials for bio applications. He has published several peer-reviewed journal papers in the area of his research and received a grant from NASA. Dr. Niksiar is The Citadel’s Rocket Club advisor and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of thermal and fluid Sciences, aerodynamics, materials, design, measurements and numerical methods.
