Dr. Bass earned his Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Auburn University, where he worked on the development of biodegradable electroactive polymers for use as sensors and actuators. His current research interests involve using a variety of experimental and analytical techniques for characterizing, controlling, and modelling the response of these materials. In addition, he is working on expanding his research into the field of space mechanics and orbital trajectory optimization.
Dr. Bass teaches introductory through upper-level undergraduate mechanical engineering courses, as well as graduate-level courses in the program.
