The sport management program’s mission is to educate and cultivate strong-minded leaders to master sport for positive changes in our modern society.
The minor in sport management is designed to provide students the opportunity to learn about the unique role of sport in society, and to assist them in developing management skills in a wide range of the sport operations, such as sport events, facility management, administration and leadership abilities in sport organizations.
Competencies, Knowledge, or Skills to be Achieved:
By completing the minor in sport management, students will acquire the essential knowledge and build the practical skills required for a competitive career in the business of sport. Examples of future career opportunities include interscholastic and intercollegiate athletics, amateur, and professional sport organizations.
