formally known as Heroism Day
In support of strategic commitments to service-learning and development of principled leaders, The Citadel’s annual Leadership Day entails all regularly scheduled classes replaced with an on or off-campus training, seminar, or service project for all cadets. Day students living off-campus and graduate students may also participate in the event.
All activities on Leadership Day are designed to engage students in a meaningful educational and developmental process outside the classroom: learning through service in the community, interacting with diverse populations, training for ethical and skilled leadership, serving as a trained leader for service teams, and/or preparing for service and leadership in one’s discipline. Training, accountability, and evaluation of impact (on those served and those serving) is integrated into all approved activities.
Visit the Krause Center’s Leadership Day website for more information regarding this year’s event. For additional Citadel leadership and service initiative information, please contact Dr. Conway Saylor (firstname.lastname@example.org) or COL Tom Clark (email@example.com).
